CID is currently seeking a Student Public Relations Intern to join our design studio to assist the team in our Houston, TX office.

  • As a Public Relations Intern for Contour Interior Design, you will be working closely with the PR Manager and design team to assist with the studio’s marketing and branding efforts gain to obtain professional experience and/or school required credits.

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Create and manage content calendar and schedule posts
  • Create blog posts per content calendar
  • Manage social media conversations on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn
  • Media calling and online research
  • Press Release writing
  • Event Assistance

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency of the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign and Photoshop)
  • Excellent organization and planning skills
  • Strong social media understanding, experience, and engagement
  • Outstanding verbal & written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines in a fast pace environment
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work in team environment

Required Experience

  • Currently seeking a degree in Public Relations, Advertising, or Marketing
  • Passion for interior design, hospitality design, and architecture
  • Position: Unpaid in exchange for school credits

Lead Interior Design Professional

We are currently seeking a Lead Interior Design Professional to join our team. As a Lead Designer you are responsible for all project assignments and working with the design team to assist overall effort of completing various project phases.Works under the direction of the Creative Director, and Senior Design Team to manage residential or commercial projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Modifies and prepares production drawings during design development phase.
  • Corrects and updates design documents.
  • Develops solutions to technical and design problems following established standards.
  • Incorporates Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects.
  • May mentor and direct the work of less experienced staff.
  • Prepares 2D and 3D presentation/design drawings.
  • Fosters a commitment to external and internal client service.

Required Skills:

  • Possess basic hand and AUTO CAD design drafting skills.
  • Possess space planning skills and an interest in programming.
  • Basic knowledge of design, trends, construction methodology, materials application and manufacturer-supplier appropriateness.
  • Basic knowledge of furniture, fixture and equipment (FF&E), architectural/interior finishes, lighting, art signage, color and materials to carryout design intent.
  • Basic knowledge of building regulations and safety codes.
  • Basic knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Proven ability to prioritize in order to meet deadlines and provide high quality service to clients.
  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work in team environment.
  • Proficiency in the basic technical skills of interior design including the following computer skills:
    - Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
    - Proficiency in AutoCAD/Architectural Desktop.
    - Proficiency in SketchUp and Revit is preferred.
    - Knowledge of 3D Modeling software such as Sketchup.
    - Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchup.

Required Experience:

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in in architecture, interior design or foreign equivalent.
  • 3 - 5 years’ experience; or equivalent in appropriate education and experience required.
  • Must be a US green card holder or US citizen.
