2017 COLOR FORECAST

With less than 55 days left in the 2016 calendar year, we are well on our way to a year of new beginnings. I love the feeling of a fresh start at the beginning of each new year! As we prepare ourselves for the next 365 days, it is important to step back and look at what new opportunities will present themselves in 2017. I am always excited to see what’s in store for the design industry in the upcoming year. Looking ahead, 2017 is set to see a rise in culture, spirituality, and creativity. The new 2017 color trends are full of passion and energetic self-expression that will help in painting (literally and figuratively) a portrait for our future.

In 2017 we will see our homes and personal spaces serve as focal points for the reflection of eclectic and modern individual style. I have done the research and found that the use of refined palettes of color and texture will be the solution to the pressures of modern interior design. I encourage you to discover which pallets will motivate you to improve your lifestyle through vibrant and contemporary color! Here are my two favorite forecasted pallets for the upcoming year:

Holistic
This color pallet focuses on sustainable design and essential clarity as the new standards. Parts of the world are transitioning to an ecological way of life. The importance of being green and being in tune with nature is key to living a healthy and stress-free lifestyle. Let those ideas be a reflection throughout your home. This pallet mixes earth tones, arctic neutrals, blush rose and wild browns to create a natural luxurious look.

Noir
I love that this color pallet focuses on the most enchanting part of our lives: night time. The hues used in this pallet create a sensual and mysterious mood. The noir color characteristics are seen in rich fabrics, jewel tones, dark marble, and marbleized wall accents. The influence for this pallet comes from the Dutch masters, that use dark hues to create a dramatic stage for a luxurious aesthetic. This palette is full of colors that mimic fresh fruit, Nordic blues, moody neutrals, and golden yellows.
